![]() ![]() If you were on a desktop then it wouldn't really matter, you might get a few fps, big deal. You said you were on a 5 year old laptop. If you want to keep a service on, you can, if you want to add some annoying memory using background programs, you can as well. You can fully customize what you want it to be able to do which is handy. It shuts down nonessential processes and services when gaming. If you are looking for a bunch of little tweaks like this to improve performance then I would recommend Game Booster. Since discovering that theme I actually prefer it to aero because it looks pretty much the same and even basic Windows use is noticeably more responsive. I use this dark theme so even when I turn Aero off I don't have to look at the ugly default blue bars on everything. Disabling Aero is pretty easy and if you go to a bit of trouble to customize, doesn't even look that bad. Especially if you have a low powered computer like a laptop. ![]()
